Predators

Predators occurring in wildflower gardens impact pollinators directly through predation, and in some cases by deterring pollinators visiting flowers, thus affecting plant reproduction. Crypsis, the ability of predators to blend in to their habitat, and ambush predation are common behaviors of anthophilous predators. Pollinator habitat enhancements provide habitat for diverse insect communities, including predators. While predators can directly impact pollinators through predation, various crop pests are also controlled by predatory insects.
